我們說一個人喜歡裝傻，瘋瘋癲癲的，常會說：「他很會莊孝維（裝瘋子）。」英文的說法是Don’t act dumb.字面意為「別表現得一副笨樣」，也可說：「Don’t play stupid with me.」若要形容一個人很愛「莊孝維」，便可以說：He likes to play dumb.

A：What do you say I sell this really good cell phone to you cheap for $5,000?

B：Please, the original price of this phone is only $4,000. Don’t act dumb.

A：我這支很棒的手機五千塊便宜賣你，怎樣？

B：拜託，這支手機的原價才四千塊耶。別跟我「莊孝維」了。
