《KUSO英文小辭典》I was tongue-tied.我講話吃螺絲

每個人都有講話「吃螺絲」的經驗，英文可以說：「I was tongue-tied.」或 「I was tongue-twisted.」。要注意的是，另一個與tongue有關的片語「slip of the tongue」是指「不小心講錯話」，例如本來要講：「I love Paula.」結果講成：「I love Paul.」就是slip of the tongue！

A：This news anchor is so cute and always has a smile on her face.

B：Please, she’s always getting tongue-tied, and she smiles because she’s embarrassed by it!

A：這位主播好甜喔，每次都會露出可愛的笑容。

B：拜託，她超會吃螺絲好不好？她是因為吃螺絲不好意思才笑的啦！
